Bicyclist killed in downtown Raleigh Wednesday night identified

RALEIGH, N.C. -

The bicyclist that died after colliding with a Capital Area Transit bus in downtown Raleigh Wednesday night has been identified as Antwaun Stewart.

The incident happened just after 11 p.m. on South Wilmington Street at the intersection with East Davie Street.

According to the accident report, Stewart, 37, entered into the intersection in the wrong direction from South Wilmington Street while the CAT bus was traveling through the intersection toward Fayetteville Street on a green light. 

Stewart was hit by the bus in the intersection. He was then run over after the initial impact.

No charges have been filed.
