A Savannah man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he allegedly solicited a mother and her five year old daughter for sex.

According to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, a woman alerted deputies that a man had contacted her on a social media site and struck-up a conversation that became sexually explicit.

That woman told deputies that she felt that something was wrong because the man began talking about her five year old daughter.

"During the investigation conducted by the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, George Vickery, 30, of Savannah, provided details on sexual acts he intended to perform on the child," Sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.

"Vickery drove to a playground on Columbia Avenue in Rincon this afternoon to meet who he thought was a mother and her five year old daughter with the intent engage in sexual activities," Ehsanipoor said.

Vickery was arrested by Sheriff's investigators who were at the park waiting for him.

He is charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Child Molestation, Computer or Electronic Pornography, Child Exploitation and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a crime.
