Here's a quick look at your Top 3 on 3 stories you'll need to know before heading out this morning.

Today marks the 12th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on America. It will be a somber day across the nation as we mark the anniversary the attacks. Families will gather at the National Memorial in New York City, now a symbol of where the World Trade Towers once stood. They will read the names of the 2,983 people who lost their lives when two planes crashed into the towers.

Also, President Barack Obama addressed the nation last night, making his case for intervention in Syria. The president made the primetime address from the East Room of the White House, saying the chemical weapons attack was a danger to society and a clear violation of the world's humanity. Mr. Obama asked Congress to authorize US Airstrikes but to wait to take that controversial vote. He wants to see if the diplomatic solution proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin can work.

Here at home, a weekly opportunity starts today for District 4 residents to talk with their Alderwoman.  It's being called "Muffins with Mary Ellen" and it starts today, Wednesday September 11th. Alderwoman Sprague is encouraging people to drop in and ask questions or discuss local issues with her. If you'd like to drop in, Aalderwoman Sprague will be at the "Coffee Deli Cafe" on Habersham Street this morning from 6 to 9 am.
