Dog dies after found in hot car, owners charged with animal cruelty

Posted: Updated:

News Channel 11 has learned a man and woman have been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly leaving two dogs locked in a car on Thursday.

Police say they received a call about the two dogs at the parking lot of Tacoma Medical Associates in Greeneville, TN.

A female Shar-Pei Cross and a male Pitbull mix were inside the car.  The female dog's temperature was 109 F and the male dog's temperature was 105 F.

Both dogs were taken to Greene County for medical treatment. The female dog had to be euthanized Friday after she could not recover.

The male dog stayed with the vet through the weekend. We are told that he will be picked up by the Humane Society today.

The owners, Roger Lews Miscovitch and Susan Rebecca Miscovitch of Parrotsville, are charged with animal cruelty.

They were served a summons and will appear in general sessions court on Sept. 4th.
