It's an odd story out of South Carolina. A man renting a house comes home to find that someone is having a funeral there, and burying the bodies in the front yard! The man living in the North Charleston house was disturbed by the sight of the people gathered, and then the funeral that followed. It didn't take him long to call police. Even his children saw the funeral, and he kept them in the house and closed the blinds.
The case eventually went to the Charleston County Public Works office for an eviction hearing.
It turns out a judge agrees with the renter who complained. The magistrate said that the lease doesn't say anything about an active graveyard, and he remarked that the bodies were buried extremely close to the house. So the renter can remain, but will he want to? It also turns out that the coroner investigating the situation says there are a total of eleven bodies buried in the yard. She says here office is still investigating, but so far there's nothing actually illegal happening. No word on whether the renter is looking for a place to live where they DON'T bury bodies on the property.
