Delinquent Properties Put on Notice in Beaufort County

Posted: Updated:
BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. -

The Beaufort County Treasurer's office has begun the process of posting delinquent properties.

This is the process in which signs are affixed to delinquent properties to notify taxpayers who did not return the delinquent certified notices.

Owners who see these signs on their property have until August 31, 2013 to pay the taxes in full, before another penalty is added.

After that date, property owners have until Friday, October 4, 2013 to pay taxes on their personal property.

If the taxes are not paid by Friday, October 4, 2013 the property will go up for auction during the Delinquent Tax Sale Monday, October 7, 2013.

No payments will be accepted for the delinquent property on the day of the auction.

If there are questions about this process, please call the Beaufort County Treasurer's office at (843)255-2600.
