WSAV Unveils Thursday Night Blitz Game of the Week Schedule

WSAV is excited to unveil its 2013 WSAV Thursday Night Blitz Game of the Week schedule.  Games will be aired at 7pm each week on WSAV 3.2 (MyLC) and re-broadcasted the following Sunday morning on WSAV-TV3.

WSAV announces 2013 Thursday Night Blitz Game of the Week schedule.

(Savannah/Hilton Head) – WSAV, the NBC affiliate for coastal Georgia and South Carolina, has announced its lineup for televised Thursday night high school football for 2013.  The WSAV THURSDAY NIGHT BLITZ GAME OF THE WEEK season debuts Thursday August 22 when Savannah Christian plays Jenkins High School at Memorial Stadium in Savannah.  The 11-game schedule will continue on selected Thursdays throughout the high school football season on WSAV's digital channel My LC 3.2 (check local listings for channel location in your area) with coverage beginning at 7pm.  An encore broadcast of each game will air on WSAV-TV Sunday mornings. 

WSAV Sports Director/Anchor Ken Slats will continue to handle play-by-play duties with guest color analysts including: The Prep Sports Report's Dean Moesch, CBS Radio Sports' Seth Harp, freelance writer Steven Weeks and WTKS radio's Bill Edwards.  "Over the past six years viewers have been clamoring for more Blitz.  The WSAV Thursday Night Blitz Game of the Week gives us another opportunity to showcase our local schools, both athletically and academically to the Coastal Empire, Lowcountry and beyond."

WSAV began its Blitz brand in 2008.  Now in its' sixth year, the Friday Night Blitz provides fans with the area's fastest-paced high school football highlight show airing Fridays at 11:15pm.  Slats boasts that a "typical" show includes highlights from 14-16 games and scores from nearly all 72 of the local teams in the region.  "I'm proud to say that WSAV continues to lead our area with the most extensive and creative high school football coverage.  From the WSAV Blitz/Prep Sports Report Top 10 poll -- to the WSAV Thursday Night Blitz Game of the Week -- to the Friday Night Blitz -- to Blitz Extra on Saturday mornings --  to the Sunday morning re-broadcast of the Game of the Week, we bring our viewers more than five hours of prep coverage every week."
