The Amherst County Sheriff's Office was aided by authorities in Durham with tracking suspects as they left Durham for Madison Heights, Va. to deliver drugs, authorities said.

Alphonso Roman Sanchez, 38, of Durham, was charged with three counts distribution of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, distribution of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school, conspiracy to distribute cocaine, and transporting controlled substances into the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Marsha Jo Herrera, 37, of Virginia was charged with distribution of cocaine, distribution of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school, and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

Both subjects had multiple forms of fictitious identification, the sheriff's office said.

The suspects are being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond pending an advisement hearing in the Amherst General District Court.
