CHATHAM COUNTY, GA -

CEMA is warning drivers to be careful as they travel through Savannah and Garden City today.

A truck spilling sulfuric acid is driving through both cities, and leaving puddles of the chemical behind. The truck has been found, but several contaminated areas are still out there

Known spots include President St at Delaney Ave, Grange road and 3 locations on Highway 21.

Fire and Police crews are on the scenes, using neutralizer to clean up the residue.

If you see any other spills notify Savannah Fire or Police or Garden City Fire or Police right away.

CEMA says you should avoid driving through the spill.

If acid does get on your car or truck, cover the contaminated area with baking soda and then rinse off with water to neutralize.
