Toney Coppock is just 22 years old, but no stranger to the law.

But July 16, along Skidaway road, Savannah-Chatham police say he took his crime to the next level.

That's when he got into a fight and opened fire on a friend.

"He wound up shooting him twice and were it not for a mishap during the incident, he probably would have killed him," explained Detective Kevin Grogan of the Savannah-Chatham Police Department.

The victim, 30 year old Gerald Williams is now on the mend. Coppock still on the loose.

"We have a young man in this case that is recovering thank God," says Grogan. "But last Wednesday there is a 19 year old male in Yamacraw where it didn't work out that way. So its not something we are going to tolerate."

Toney Coppock is 5' 6" 120-130 lbs and was last seen in East Savannah, and hangs out in the Waters Avenue corridor. He is considered armed and dangerous.

If you know where Coppock is, call Crimestoppers right now at (912)234-2020.

And if Toney Coppock is watching, detectives have a message for you.

"Might as well get it over with," said Detective Grogan. "You will be all over the news. You might as well come in."
