RICHLANDS, N.C. -

Michelle Woodhouse-Deboyes pleaded guilty to intentional child abuse. She'll spend the next 70-96 months in prison.

In October of 2012, 33-year-old Michelle Woodhouse-Deboyes filled a coffee cup full of boiling hot water and threw it on her 9-month-old daughter. Deputies say she then turned the young girl over and held her in the hot water puddle on the floor.

The baby went to the Chapel Hill Burn Center with burns covering 12% of her body.

The mother says she did it because her crying child made her mad.
