High Point company stands behind Paula Deen

Posted: Updated:
HIGH POINT, N.C. -

Paula Deen's not had the best couple months, but now she's getting a ray of good news.

The High Point Enterprise reports Universal Furniture International will continue to market the Paula Deen Home Collection.

Deen's lost several companies including the Food Network, Smithfield Foods, Walmart, Target, Sears and many more.

But Jeff Scheffer, the owner of the High Point-based furniture maker, says he feels bad for Deen. He says the Paula Deen he knows is not the one who's been marched out in the media recently.

Scheffer wrote retailers saying his company accepts Deen's apologies for her previous comments. He says part of his decision is based on retail customer feedback.
