GARDEN CITY, GA -

This week, News 3's Fugitive Files profiles two suspects wanted for theft.

They didn't just steal once, but hundreds of times.

"During the course of their employment they stole over 240 catalytic converters."

They are John Nesmith and Demetrius Wynn.

Both worked at a local recycling plant, and according to Garden City Police, took home more than a paycheck from their jobs.

"Forklift operators would take the block of catalytic converters, place them near their personal vehicles," explains Detective Kenneth White of the Garden City Police. "Take the catalytic converters with the vehicles, go out to surrounding recycling places and sell them."

These thefts went on for nearly 6 months until the business got wise.

2 suspect have already admitted to the crime.  Nesmith and Wynn are still on the run.

John Nesmith is 23 years old, facing theft by taking charges.

Investigators believe he has fled to Florida, but still has ties to the area.

Demetrius Wynn is 36 years old and facing 72 theft by taking charges.

He may be in Jasper County, possibly in Hardeeville.

"The kind of thing continues to go on," said Detective White. "I believe this is something that Demetrius and Nesmith are doing, using recyclers as their source of money, and they may be doing it in the area they are now."

If you can help find John Nesmith or Demetrius Wynn, call Garden City Police or Crimestoppers at 912-234-2020.

Remember if your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
