GREENVILLE, N.C. -

A woman is dead after her SUV went into the side of a Pitt County church Tuesday afternoon.

Highway Patrol Troopers said  the crash happened just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Mills and Ivy Road in Greenville. Troopers say another vehicle operated by 39-year-old Thomas Grindle ran a stop sign then collided with 68-year-old Faye Sadler's SUV, sending it toward Cedar Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Sadler was taken to Vidant Medical Center. Officials said that she died Wednesday morning just before 11 a.m.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Highway Patrol officials said they're in the process of determining whether charges will be filed in the incident.
