CONTENTNEA NECK, N.C. -

The Highway Patrol tells 9 On Your Side they believe a medical condition is why a man drove his truck into his neighbor's home early Wednesday morning.

Troopers responded to the crash site at 7 a.m. this morning where they found 78-year-old Richard Fordham dead at the scene of where his truck hit had hit a mobile home.

Fordham lived north of the crash site on Grainger Station Road. Troopers speculate that the he died behind the wheel before hitting his neighbor's house. The medical examiner will need to confirm that it was not the impact of the crash that killed Fordham.

Fordham's family told the Highway Patrol he had a history of medical conditions including congestive heart failure.
