Woman arrested in connection with Clayton drug seizure

CLAYTON, N.C. -

A woman wanted in connection with a major drug bust in Clayton was arrested after turning herself in Wednesday night at the Clayton Police Department.

Leah Scheib, 27, of Clayton, is one of two suspects authorities are looking for after they seized a large amount of drugs at her home located at 306 South Smith Street and also at the home of 34-year-old Jeremy Everidge at 204 John Street in Clayton on Tuesday. The homes are less than two blocks from one another.

Authorities seized more than 350 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 32 grams of powder cocaine, more than 16 grams of marijuana, 12 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a variety of prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and $6,000 cash.

Scheib and Everidge are charged with:

  • Trafficking crystal methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to sell and distribute methamphetamine
  • Trafficking cocaine
  • Possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana
  • 3 counts possession with intent to sell and distribute Schedule IV (prescription drugs)   
  • 2 counts possession with intent to sell and distribute Schedule II (cocaine)          
  • 7 counts maintain dwelling for use, storage, or sale of controlled substances       
  • Drug paraphernalia 

Scheib is in Johnston County Jail under a $101,000 secured bond.
