Chatham County Deputies Find 92 Fraudulent Credit Cards

Posted: Updated:

A Chatham County Sheriff's Deputy made a stop Tuesday evening just after 7 p.m., on I-95 and found 92 fraudulent credit cards along with other financial fraud documents.

The driver, Jean Rene Metelus had the credit cards, tax documents, thousands of names and identifiers, computers and approximately $5500 in cash.

Deputies say Metelus was originally stopped for a traffic violation, then when his driver's license was checked the deputy was made aware that he was driving on a suspended license.

Deputy Brown is part of the Criminal Interdiction Unit with the CCSO who patrols all of Chatham County.

The Secret Service is assisting in this investigation.
