Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA -

Senior Citizens Inc. is fighting back after learning that federally mandated budget cuts will effect it's Meals On Wheels program.

The cuts, known as sequestration, means a loss of nearly 80 thousand dollars for the agency.

Senior Citizens Inc. has launched what they're calling a Paper Plate Campaign. They are mailing more than 3 thousand paper plates to Congress this week   Each plate will have a special  message to Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson as well as Representatives  Jack Kingston and John Barrow. The goal is to stress the importance of the hunger relief programs to the community.
