UPDATE: Man charged with first degree murder in connection to Greene Co. stabbing

GREENE COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

***UPDATE***

The Greene County Sheriff's Department told News Channel 11 that deputies charged Phil Guinn with first degree murder Thursday night in relation to the stabbing death of Scott Wayne Tilson.

Deputies said someone stabbed and killed Tilson on Sunday, June 30 on Mary Lamons Road.

***UPDATE***

One man is dead after a fatal stabbing in Greene County. The Greene County Sheriff's Department said officers arrived at a home off of Mary Lamons road around 1:30 am. According to the police report, deputies found 36 year old Scott Wayne Tilson bleeding on a mattress with multiple stab wounds. 

EMS arrived on scene and attempted to treat Tilson, but he died later from his wounds.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department does have someone in custody, but he has not been charged. According to the police report, Tilson named the man as the attacker.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department confirms one man was stabbed and killed early Sunday morning.

Little more information is being released at this time.  Investigations are underway.
