Durham PD investigating fatal shooting

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened late Thursday on Melbourne Street.

Officers were called to a home invasion and shooting right before midnight in the 400 block of Melbourne St. When they arrived, they found a man lying in the street who had been shot to death. 

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Michael Lee.

Officers were told that several men with guns broke into a home. During the invasion Lee was shot. A resident of the home was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Durham police arrested Lewis Little, 19, at the scene and charged him with one count of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of felony conspiracy and three counts of assault.

Little has been placed in the Durham County jail under a $1,425,000 bond. Authorities are still looking for additional suspects.
