Conviction, Life Sentence Upheld for Ninja Wheeler

Posted: Updated:

The Supreme Court of Georgia has upheld the murder conviction and life sentence for Ninja Hassan Wheeler, who was once at the top of Savannah's most wanted list.

Wheeler was convicted in the 2009 shooting death of Steven Green, who was found inside one of his rental properties on Stokes Street.  Wheeler was eventually captured in Los Angeles after a year on the run from police.

Prosecutors say Wheeler and Lakeya Jenkins lured Green to the house under the guise of renting it.  Wheeler came out of a bedroom and shot and killed green.  Police say the crime netted the two a little over 100 dollars.

Last year Wheeler was sentenced to two life terms plus 10 years.
