ECU student reportedly assaulted, robbed by three men

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

An East Carolina University student says he was assaulted and robbed of his wallet, cash and cell phone early Saturday morning.

Campus Police say the student was walking in the area of 5th Street and Library Street around 2 a.m. when three black males assaulted him and stole his wallet, cash, and his cell phone.  

The victim incurred minor injuries.

The incident was not reported by the victim until late Saturday afternoon.  The victim was able to describe one of the suspects as a black male, skinny build, short hair, wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.

Suspects fled in an unknown direction of travel.  

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Greenville Police at 252-329-4315. Information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777. You are encouraged not to walk alone at night and remain aware of your surroundings at all times. Report any suspicious or criminal activity as soon as possible.
