Authorities in Effingham county are looking for 13-year old John Gonsalves. They say he was last seen at his home on Tuesday night. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Springfield Police Department at (912) 754-3449.

Also, a well-known community service organization in the Lowcountry is mourning the loss of its founder. Officials at Bluffton Self Help say 87-year old Ida Martin passed away peacefully late Wednesday afternoon at the hospital, surrounded by family. Martin has been recognized at the state and local level for providing food, clothing, and medical assistance for people in need.

One story making national headlines; Friday marks the six-month anniversary of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting, and families of the victims are on Capitol Hill Thursday. They will spend a full day in Washington, D.C. remembering the 20 children and six adults shot to death in December. After a vigil the families will hold a press conference with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.
