Savannah -

The Georgia Department of Transportation wants to remind drivers that, weather permitting, there will be a lane shift this Friday, June 14, beginning at 9:00am.  The shift will take place at SR 204 Spur/Whitefield Avenue westbound starting near the Truman Parkway and continuing to Montgomery Crossroads in Chatham County.

The Georgia DOT says the lane shift is necessary for the contractor to work on the storm drainage and to remove the existing roadway. Motorists should expect delays at this work zone.

Motorists are also are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this and all work zones. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
