CLAXTON, GA -

Bulloch County deputies have made an arrest in a shooting incident last week. According to the official report:

"On 5/30/13 at 9:40 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in
the 700 block of Clevy Deloach Rd. for a reported
aggravated assault with a firearm. Upon arrival deputies
located the 26 year old male victim and several witnesses,
none of whom had been struck by the gunfire. The victim
and witnesses stated that an acquaintance of theirs,
Anthony Verde, had become angry with the victim and fired
at least two shots at him before leaving in Verde's Dodge
Charger. Deputies interviewed multiple individuals
regarding this case and investigator John Quattlebaum issued
three arrest warrants for Verde.

BCSO investigators, assisted by the Evans County GA
sheriff's office and parole officers, searched for Verde in
Claxon and at several other locations over a two day
period. On 6/1/13 deputies received a call of a suspicious
vehicle on Emit Grove Rd at Emit Grove Church. Upon
arrival deputies identified Verde as an occupant of the
vehicle and arrested him on the outstanding warrants. A
quantity of suspected marijuana was also located in the
vehicle. Verde was transported to the Bulloch County
jail where he is held without bond. He is charged with 1 count
aggravated assault, 1 count possession of a firearm by a
convicted felon, 1 count possession of a firearm during the
commission of a crime, 1 count misdemeanor possession of
marijuana, and parole violation."
