KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) -

Police charged a Kingsport man with domestic aggravated assault for allegedly threatening to kill his parents and a police officer.

The Kingsport Police Department says Josiah Loftin woke up Friday morning at a home on East Street and noticed his shoes were moved into his father's room. According to officers, Loftin got angry about this and began to argue with his parents.

Police say Loftin eventually grabbed a kitchen knife. According to police, Loftin's parents say he became so irate, they thought he was going to stab them with the knife.

Investigators say when Loftin's mom called police, he got angry and threatened to kill his mom and dad, as well as any police officers who were going to show up to the home.

Police say they arrested Loftin and charged him with domestic aggravated assault.
