Zephyrhills doesn't mind Powerball attention

The city of Zephyrhills is still getting lots of national attention. But the many media crews and live trucks don't seem to bother the local residents.

"This is an amazing thing...couldn't be better for Zephyrhills we have so much to offer..20.if you didn't have enough reason to love living here in Zephyrhills....here's another one we're the luckiest town in the country," said Danny Burgess, Mayor of Zephyrhills.

The folks here seem to be keeping a sense of humor. like Ronald Weir, who showed us proof that he too, is a Powerball winner. "There's two people winning in the same city,even though I didn't win the big one," said Weir. He won $12.

In this community of 13 thousand people, secrets don't last long, but nobody seems to know who bought that winning $590-million ticket at Publix. "Pretty much everybody knows everything...I'm really surprised22 really truly surprised it's kept a secret this long," said Jerri Greene, Zephyrhills resident .

At the Sonny's Bar-B-Que Restaurant, a popular spot for the locals, along with the excitement there was some obvious disappointment.'My family and everyone I know has gotten phone calls from people out of state to find out if they were the ones who won, so it's kinda neat. But everyone at work was like yeah....it wasn't us," said Ellen Golden, Zephyrhills resident.
