Wife wants answer on inmate death

Two weeks after the death of two inmates in a Washington County Tennessee Jail.

Investigators have yet to release information on how the inmate died.

The widow of one of the men told us - she still has no clue what led to her husband's death.

Right after the inmates died - the jail in Jonesborough said there was no foul play in either death and followed protocol by calling in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

The TBI hasn't released any information so far.

The widow of Charles Young says she at least wants to know how her husband spent his final moments.

"I carry this around with me everywhere I go," said Ammy Young, referring to a picture in her hand.

"It's always with me."

It's one of the few memories she has now ever since her husband passed away.

"He was a really special guy he was so smart," said Young.

Now she can only visit Charles Young's grave and wonder what happened.

"He was only 35."

Young was serving time in the Washington County Jail for violation of probation when he unexpectedly died.

"I'm not saying a criminal should get away with anything. But if they're in there they should be taken care of," said Young.

Now Ammy wants answers but she says she's being kept in the dark.

"Nobody out of the sheriff's department has told me anything," said Young

So she's taking matters into her own hands

"I don't want to say something's not right but something's not right," said Young

She knows finding out won't change what happened, but it's a start.

"I'm blessed -- for the time we had together -- it was only 6 years but it was the best 6 years of my life"
