1 cut in Fayetteville gas station fight

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

A man was cut across the chest with a box cutter during an altercation at a gas station in Fayetteville Saturday afternoon.

Fayetteville police said officers responded to the BP Gas Station at 1899 Skibo Road just before 4 p.m. after a report of a person being cut.

Upon arrival, officers learned Christopher Thomas had been cut across the chest by a box cutter by Darren Burgess during a fight, police said.

Thomas was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Burgess was taken into custody and placed in the Cumberland County Detention Center. Charges against Burgess are pending.
