Baker is the first Warrior to capture the prestigious honor since Ben Patrick won the award in 2002. He's also the fourth Jenkins Warrior to win the award.  It's given annually to a male student-athlete in Savannah-Chatham who excels in football, basketball and a Spring sport.

The award is in honor of local sports supporter Ashley Dearing, who passed away in 2009.

Baker was featured, along with his Jenkins High School Warriors on the September 6, 2012 WSAV Thursday Night Blitz Game of the Week against South Effingham High School.

The senior rushed for 672 yards and 9 touchdowns.  He also passed for 312 yards and 12 touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 372 yards and 6 touchdowns.

On the basketball court, Baker averaged 11.3 points per game and 10 rebounds for the Warriors in the 2012-13 season.
