COLUMBIA, S.C. -

If you are facing foreclosure on your house, there could be help.

SC Help is a program created to help those who need assistance with their mortgage payments. There are some eligibility requirements that must be met, but many people are surprised at how easy the approval process is if those requirements are met.

"I was really shocked at how fast it went. I want to say that it only took about thirty days for me to get my payments in place," said Trenisha Brown from Columbia, South Carolina. Brown recently lost her job due to disability and says the SC Help program was the only way she was able to keep her home. "Unfortunately being a single parent of three children, I mean the last thing you want to worry about it a roof over their heads, " said Brown. "And that took the biggest burden I can say off my back. I mean the biggest burden to not have to worry about those house payments."

There are a qualifications that have to be met to receive the mortgage payments. In the last year, you have to have either lost your job, had a major salary reduction, divorce or costly health issues that make affording your house payment difficult.

You must have a mortgage to qualify. This program is not for those who are renting their homes. There is no household income limit and the loans are forgivable up to twenty percent each year if the house is not sold within the five years following enrolment in the program.

The fastest way to apply is the online application which can be found at the SC Help website. You can also call toll-free at, 1-855-435-7472.
