SATELLITE, Fla. -

A man from Charlotte, N.C., robbed a credit union in Florida to get cash to pay for a Disney cruise for his girlfriend and her two children Thursday – and was quickly caught by police.

Navy Federal Credit Union members could barely believe their unit at Satellite Beach was targeted by a robber.

But police say Cedrick Swinson, 37, was a tourist from Charlotte who was traveling with his girlfriend and her two young children.

They were in Brevard County to get on a Disney Cruise and this man indicated as he talked with investigators that he couldn't get his money out of the bank account that he was trying to access.

Investigators said when Swinson realized he didn't have access to his own funds Thursday, he decided to steal the money to get his girlfriend's children on the Disney cruise.

So he made a split-second decision to walk in the bank and hand the teller a note demanding money to pay for the cruise for the family.

Police pulled over an SUV within minutes on the Pineda Causeway, where they arrested Swinson and recovered the cash.

Police say the suspect left his girlfriend and their two children, age 11 and 6, in the car during the robbery.

Commander Brad Hodge of the Satellite Police Department told Florida Today that the girlfriend "was horrified and the children were upset. They drove here overnight from Charlotte for a cruise. They didn't know he was going to do this."
