Two Marion Police officers Charged with Assault and Misconduct in Office

MARION, SC -

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested two Marion Police Department officers today in connection with an incident during an arrest earlier this month.

Frank Delano Brown and Eric Rayburn Walters have each been charged with one count of Assault/Assault and Battery 1st Degree, a felony with a penalty upon conviction of up to 10 years in prison. Both were also charged with Misconduct in Office, a Common Law violation with a penalty upon conviction of up to 10 years in prison.

Brown and Walters were booked at the Marion County Detention Center. Both officers are suspended without pay.

SLED investigated the incident at the request of the Marion Police Department. The case will be prosecuted by the Fourth Circuit Solicitor's Office.
