Augusta, GA -

VIDALIA, GA - (WJBF/WSAV) One person was killed and two people were wounded in a shooting at a home on the 3500 block of Biltmore Place in South Augusta Tuesday Morning. WSAV.WJBF has learned the suspect, who was believed to have fled Richmond County, GA, has been apprehended by the Georgia State Patrol in Tooms County. Earlier, police in Emanuel, Bulloch, and Chatham counties were notified to be 'on the lookout' for the suspect. 

At 6:00, deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office released this additional statement:

"The three victims, mother, Linda Crumbley (B/F, 57yoa, same address), her son Mario Crumbley (B/M, 33yoa, same address) and daughter Dekrizia Crumbley (B/F, 27yoa, same address) had been transported to Georgia Regents University Hospital for medical treatment prior to Sheriff's Investigators arrival. Within minutes of Sheriff's Office Investigators arriving on the scene, it was learned that one of the three victims, mother Linda Crumbley had died from the injuries. Mario Crumbley is in critical but stable condition and Dekrizia Crumbley is in serious, but stable condition.

During the course of the investigation it was learned that the suspect Steve Allen Lawrence (52) years of age of 3655 Spring Hill Church Road, Blythe, was travelling in a 2005 Green in color Ford F-150 and was headed towards Savannah. A broadcast was put out on Lawrence and his vehicle and he was apprehended without incident in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in TOOMBS County.

RCSO investigators are currently in Toombs County and Lawrence will eventually be transported back to Richmond County where he will be booked into the jail on the following charges: 1 count Murder

2 counts Aggravated Assault

1 count Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime."
