Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, GA -

Violent crimes detectives in Savannah are piecing together details of an early-morning shooting in Tremont Park that left one man in surgery.

Jameer Riley, 22, of a Carter Street address, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment of gunshot wounds after he barged into a house on the 2100 block of Dodge Avenue seeking help at 3:51 a.m.

Several houses were hit by gunfire and some weapons were recovered. West Chatham Precinct patrol officers responded to a shooting call on Ford Avenue and found the victim a block away in a house.

Detectives are investigating any possible link to the shooting and a white Chevrolet Impala found wrecked on Tremont Avenue.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward. A confidential Tip Line also is open directly to investigators at (912) 525-3124.
