UPDATE: Tybee Island, Victim Identifed In Fatal Hwy. 80 Crash

TYBEE ISLAND, GA -

The westbound lane of Highway 80 was shutdown for a while Friday night on Tybee Island after a head on collision that left one man dead.

Georgia State Patrol tells us the victim is 36 year old Andrew Paul Bowman of Charleston County, SC. He passed away on scene.  Troopers say Bowman was driving down the wrong way on Highway 80 when his car collided with another vehicle. 

A woman in the other car was taken to the hospital for treatment. The Tybee Fire Chief says she is a volunteer firefighter and she was conscious when EMS crews arrived. She is said to be doing fine.
