Savannah Man Injured in Head-On Crash

SAVANNAH, GA -

A Savannah man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a head-on collision.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police say Michael Fredrick Medlin, 24, was driving a 2005 Honda Civic eastbound on Fulton Road near Navajo Road around 1:20 p.m. when it collided with a 1998 Ford Explorer.

The Explorer was driven by Amie Marie Tatum, 25.

Medlin had to be extricated from his car by rescue personnel with Savannah Fire.

He was taken to Memorial University Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Officers from SCMPD's Major Accident Investigation Team said the Explorer drifted across the center turn lane and into the eastbound lane.

No charges or citations have been issued.

MAIT continues to investigate, police said.
