"I just woke up one morning and it was out of the ground," Earl says. "I never seen something like it - never heard something like it - until I seen my own!"
Earl says cracks have appeared around the base of the decades old pool. Water is sitting underneath. So when it rains, the pool rises even more.
No one can explain how the water got there and why it is refusing to drain away.
To add to Earl's troubles, his insurance company is refusing to pay up for the damage. The insurance company claims that this strange phenomenon isn't covered under the 'outside structures' category in his policy.
"The insurance people say they don't know," Earl says. "Ain't none of them know anything. They ain't seen nothing like it."
But Earl says he's not letting the insurance company off so easily.
"I'm going to have to pay to get it covered up," Earl says. "I'm going to fill it up and do away with the pool cause I ain't going swimming no more."
Earl says he's also concerned about his house.
"My house could fall through next," Earl says. "I could wake up and be out there in the yard!"
