Rule Reminders For Hilton Head St. Pat's

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -

Typically the Sunday before Savannah's celebration, Hilton Head is partying on the real day this year.  And since it's connected with Savannah's party weekend, the sheriff's office doesn't know how it will impact the Island's turnout.

Either way, they will be ready for the crowd as more officers will be out.

A few rules you need to know-- no candy will be thrown from parade floats, but still, keep an eye on your kids, as no one is allowed to walk into the road during the parade.

"No personal golf carts or scooters. We ask you to leave those at home," Sgt. Robin McIntosh said.

They remind you to obey all the laws because they won't go easy on you especially for alcohol consumption laws.

If the parade doesn't interest you, they say avoid the area from 2-5pm at least because traffic will be backed up.  Also, there is no parking along the parade route, so arrive early to claim your parking spot-- and sitting spot.
