A pair of convicted felons are back behind bars, this time for making meth.

Byron Steed and James Joyner were arrested by Effingham County Sheriff's Department Saturday after investigators executed a search warrant on a Irvin Mercer road home.

Inside that home, Sheriff's say they found an active meth lab, methamphetamine, a shotgun and a rifle.

Both Joyner and Steed are convicted felons with what are being called extensive criminal records.

They are facing various charges ranging from manufacturing methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine to possession/transportation of a firearm by a convicted felon.

They remain in Effingham County Jail.
