You may have to rethink some recipes. Warnings are out that there's an international shortage of extra virgin olive oil.
It has fallen victim to weather extremes.
Last
summer, farmers of Spain were struggling to cope with a drought.
Because of this the Spanish harvest is predicted to be down by as much
as 60 percent. They say this will not only create shortages but also
push up prices.
Other counties that produce olive oil include
Greece, Italy, Turkey and Tunisia. But they too have had drought
problems and won't be able to make up the shortfall.
