Fugitive Files profiles a suspect who's been in and out of jail for the last 15 years is on the loose again.
Darrell Porter is 30 years old, and was in the residential drug court program, now violated his probation and is on the run from authorities.
"The week of January 21 he left the residence and never returned," explains Chatham County Sheriff's Deputy Malcolm Hardaway. "He called later than night on a Friday night. Said he was on his way back. But he didn't return."
Porter has an arrest record dating back to 1997 for everything from assault to kidnapping to obstruction.
He's been put in jail 24 times, for anywhere from 2 days to 6 months.
"You put him in the drug program to hopefully straighten him out?"
"That's exactly what the Judge did," explained Hardaway. "Evidently he's not appreciating what the judge did for him. He's up and left and never returned. So it's our job to bring him back to justice."
Chatham County Sheriff's have been close to catching Porter, but they say he is running, and getting help.
"Last location we probably saw him was West 73rd Street. This past weekend he was seen over on Skidaway. So he can be either Eastside or Westside," said Deputy Hardaway. "And whoever is trying to hide him, I advise them they shouldn't participate in whatever he is doing. That's just going to get them in trouble. So if you know where Mr Porter is you need to turn him in."
If you have information about where Darrell Porter may be, call Chatham County Sheriff's or Crimestoppers at 912-234-2020.
Remember if your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
