Suspect Charged with Shooting Two Brothers

A Savannah man has been charged with murder for a shooting that left one man dead and his brother in critical condition.

24 year old Christopher Alexander Johnson was arrested on a murder warrant from Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police homicide detectives Wednesday. He also has been charged with aggravated assault.

He is charged with shooting 25 year old Maurice Antwan James and 30 year old Josh Detrimis James the two brothers in their home in the 700 block of West 49th Street back on November 14.

Maurice James was declared dead at Memorial University Medical Center. Josh James was hospitalized in critical condition. Josh James has survived his wounds.

Johnson and both victims have extensive records with Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police.

Johnson was most recently released from Hays State Prison after serving seven months of a two-year, six-month sentence for possession of cocaine and obstruction. He had served two other prison terms.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate the shootings.
