Man Indicted On Drug And Fleeing Charges In Pooler Chase

SAVANNAH, GA -

A man arrested 29 times in Chatham County has now been indicted for his latest alleged offenses.  Jamaal Singleton was indicted today on felony fleeing and obstruction charges along with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Authorities say when Jamaal Singleton rolled up to a traffic checkpoint at Pooler Parkway and I-16, back in December, officers smelled marijuana in the car. They say Singleton ran from the scene, nearly hitting an officer.

Georgia State Patrol officers eventually caught up with Singleton after he wrecked in a nearby neighborhood, and allegedly tried to run on foot. Officers say they found 2 and a half pounds of marijuana and 1,900 dollars in cash in his car. Of Singleton's 28 prior arrests in Chatham County, 18 times were for drug related charges.
