Suspicious Fire Destroys Nearly 100 Golf Carts

BLUFFTON, S.C. -

A fire investigators are calling "suspicious" destroyed a barn and nearly a hundred golf carts at a Bluffton golf course Friday night.

Firefighters were called to Eagles Pointe off Fording Island Road around 7:30 p.m. and found the barn engulfed in flames.

The barn was used to house the club's golf carts.

All 80 of them were destroyed.

A resident called 911 after seeing a small fire behind the building but the blaze spread before firefighters got there.

Officials say a golfer saw nothing suspicious when he left the driving range at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Investigators have yet to find a cause for the fire and say there were no signs of forced entry.
