Local Program Helps Connect Students With Colleges

SAVANNAH, GA -

The MEGAGENESIS program is designed to promote a college-going culture by providing college and career information to students and parents.

More than 900 local middle and high school students gathered at Sol C. Johnson High School on Saturday to learn about educational opportunities. The coordinator of the program said 34 colleges and universities from Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida attended the event.

7th grader, Cyjah Williams, said she wants to pursue a career in the medical field and found talking about your dreams early is helpful.

"Motivated me to not give up on what I wanted to do because sometimes I feel discouraged and now I know I shouldn't be discouraged so I can have a better future," said Williams.
