The Effingham County Sheriff's Office still needs your help finding a cross dressing bandit.
This thief has written thousands of dollars worth of bad checks at area stores, and investigators say he is still in the area, possibly in Savannah.
Here's what you need to know in this bizarre case.
The suspect's name is Johnny Green, but when he is making these fraudulent transactions, his appearance varies.
Johnny Green is a cross dresser, and he uses a variety of female names when making illegal purchases at nearby stores.
Green is 37 years old and is believed to be from Atlanta, but has been living in the Effingham/Chatham county area for a while.
When Green goes in to make purchases, he is slightly more dressed up.
In surveillance photos, he's seen with long hair and wearing women's clothing.
Occasionally, he will wear sunglasses.
ECSO Spokesperson, David Ehsanipoor says Green has been spotted at the in many different stores around the Coastal Empire since January.
"What we have- from the month of January through the month of February- we have a male, that we believe is cross dressing like a female, named Johnny Green. This person has gone to several different businesses including the Wal-Mart in Rincon, a Walgreens in Garden City and the Target in Brunswick. He has been dressing as a female going into these various stores and writing bad checks, pretty much."
News three also obtained Green's most recent mug shot and learned he has an extensive criminal history.
Over the last few years, he has been arrested more than a dozen times for crimes relating to financial fraud and has just as many aliases he uses to sneak under the radar.
Ehsanipoor says Green will continue his crime spree until he is finally captured.
"I mean it's anywhere from Johnny Green, to Rosetta Green, to Latasha Green. It goes from a female to a male's name, and most of the video surveillance that we were able to obtain, the whole time he is dressed as a female wearing dresses and wigs. We are not sure where he is staying, but he is most likely somewhere dressed as a female."
Investigators believe Green is driving a 2001 tan Chevrolet Venture minivan-- displaying Georgia tag "BSQ0263: and is probably staying in the Garden City or the Savannah area.
