Effingham County Deputies Searching For Fraud Suspect

EFFINGHAM COUNTY -

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating a wanted person who is suspected of passing fraudulent checks at several area stores.

Deputies are looking for Johnny Green, 37, of Garden City or the Savannah area. Green is possibly driving a 2001 tan Chevrolet Venture minivan displaying Georgia tag BSQ 0263.

Green is known to dress as a woman and use several aliases for identification purposes. Deputies have obtained video surveillance which shows Green dressed as female in Wal-Mart in Effingham County as well as Walgreens in Garden City and Target in Brunswick Georgia. Green has a very extensive criminal history and has been arrested 18 times in the state of Georgia for financial related crimes.

Anyone with information on Green's whereabouts is asked to contact the Effingham County Sheriff's Office at 912-754-3449.
