A Screven County man is under arrest after a methamphetamine lab was discovered at his home.

Tracy Austin, 42, of Newington, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of tools during the commission of a crime.

Authorities were tipped off about possible drug activity at his Runs Branch Road home, officials said.

Screven County Sheriff Mike Kile asked for help from Effingham County and together discovered the lab Wednesday afternoon.

Effingham County Sheriff's Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor says Austin has an extensive criminal history and has served time in prison for charges that include manufacturing meth.

He is being held at the Screven County Jail.
