Georgia Southern University celebrated Arbor Day by making campus a little greener.
Dozens of students, faculty and staff took part in this sustainability project to plant trees. They spent several hours Friday morning on the banks of Beautiful Eagle Creek digging holes and planting 500 cypress trees.
Many of the students are in the sustainable forestry program at the University. This is part of an ongoing campus beautification project and sustainability initiative. This is the first time Georgia Southern has held the tree planting on Arbor day.
